Help your students learn how to build complete sentences with this set of 5 center activities with a May theme. Topics include spring, Mother’s Day, and end of the year activities.
Details for Each Activity:
1. Complete/Incomplete Sentence Sort-Students go through sentence strips and determine if they are complete sentences or incomplete sentences and place them under the correct header.
2.Subject & Predicate Match Up-Sentence strips are cut to separate the subjects from the predicates. Students go through the pieces and put them together to make sentences.
3. Spin a Silly Sentence-There are 3 spinner boards-subjects, verbs, and descriptions. Students spin one of each and write them on their recording sheets. Then they determine if the sentence is silly or makes sense.
4. Sentence Mix Up-Sentence strips are cut apart to separate each word and punctuation. Students go through the pieces and put them together to form sentences.
5. Interesting Adjectives-Sentence strips have complete sentences, but adjectives make them more interesting. Students pick adjective cards and put them in the blanks spaces on the sentence strips to create more interesting and detailed sentences.
